Tutorial - Boot Covers
Instruction:
| Step 1: Search all your material together. Search for the right pair of shoes or boots that have the shape that you want. Put your shoe on and put two fabric sheets around it with the pins, making seams down the front and back. It should be feeling comfortable to wear. If you don't want to put your shoe on make sure to pad it out. The shoe should have the form of being weared. Take it off finally. |
|
| Step 2: Remove the shoe between the fabric. When you're satisfiend with the shape of the cover, mark where the seams are (that is where you put the pins on). Don't forget to mark where you want the bottom of the cover to be. Sew both seams like shown in the graphic. If you want to make a permanent cover you don't have to sew the bottom part but clue it onto the shoe later. |
|
| Step 3: After the sewing job you should have a boot cover that looks a bit like a unshaped sock which is shown at Picture 1. You can already border the part at the heel. Picture 2 shows you how the cover looks like when you put it on your shoe again. Repeat Step 1-3 with the second shoe as well. |
|
| Step 4: After repeating you should have two shoe covers after all. I finished it up with a cuff design around the ankle. If there isn't any design as specification do a border part to finish the cover. I added some pushbuttons in the front because I used shoes I had to tie so I needed a chance to reach the ties.^^ |

Notes: If the fabric is not elastic you should work
out another solution. I'll make a tutorial for that later. ^^
